Giving Back to the Community with Eric Lefkofsky

Eric Lefkofsky is known for many things, but his most famous venture is Tempus Foundation where he serves as the chief executive officer and president. Besides Tempus Foundation, Eric Lefkofsky acts as the chief executive officer, founder, and chairman of a company called Groupon Inc. In total, he is associated with more than 15 companies under his name. Other organizations that he is part of include Echo Global Logistics, Mediaocean, Innerworkings as well as Uptake. Eric Lefkofsky also acts as the chairman, chief executive officer and founder of Lightbank. Lightbank is a firm that is based in Chicago and one that specializes in funding other people ideas.

Eric Lefkofsky destiny was determined since he was a small boy. He grew up in a family of scholars as his mom was a school teacher while his father was a structural engineer. His other siblings were also learned with his brother being a lawyer and his sister a school teacher. Eric Lefkofsky attended the best schools in Michigan as he attended Southern Lathrup High School. Later on, Eric attended the University of Michigan and pursued a degree in Law. He graduated with a Juris Doctor in the year 1993 from the University of Michigan Law School. His entrepreneurship began when he was studying at the University of Michigan where he used to sell carpets. He began this business by borrowing money from his family and learn more about Eric.

Eric Lefkofsky is currently married to Elizabeth Lefkofsky, and together they established a foundation called Lefkofsky Foundation. This is a foundation that supports scientific research, charitable causes, and educational institutions. Up to date, up to 50 organizations have been funded by the Lefkofsky Foundation. Of particular interest is the foundation dedication to helping small children. Eric and his wife Elizabeth are members of the Giving Pledge where they dedicated to donating all their wealth to the various organizations after they die. As a community leader, Eric Lefkofsky serves on many boards, especially in his home state. Some of the organizations include Children’s Memorial Hospital of Chicago, World Business Chicago as well as Steppenwolf Theatre Company.
